The purpose of this role is to provide equipment maintenance service and to conduct technical analysis and equipment condition monitoring in a safe and sustainable.


  • Serious contenders will have a Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science /N3 Technical Certificate with a relevant Trade Test coupled with a minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in Maintenance;
  • Sound Knowledge of CAT equipment;
  • Fault finding (Mechanical) will be essential;
  • Knowledge on hydraulic systems and wear check;
  • Knowledge of VIM, HIMS, SIS, Diagnostic systems is essential;
  • Experience in SAP will be added advantage;
  • Experience on overburden drills will be added advantage;
  • Computer literacy in MS Office Suite is essential.


  • Carries out design and generates project technical drawings for all projects as per request;
  • Ensure that drawings are distributed to relevant stakeholders;
  • Ensure availability of required equipment and consumables for the day to day running of the survey office;
  • Ensure that office administration is completed accurately and the information is easily available and accessible;
  • Ensure drawings comply with BHP Billiton Risk Guidelines;
  • Maintains that projects documented comply with HSEQC, legislative and functional requirements before archiving;
  • Demonstrates commitment to company policies and procedures;
  • Plan to comply with the parameters set out in the Mine Health and Safety Act;
  • Manage the accurate storage and retrieval of all relevant data, such as leases/servitudes/SG diagrams and all relevant supporting documentation;
  • Manage the accurate storage and retrieval of all drawings electronically;
  • Ensure that data is correctly and accurately processed into a single graphic repository of information and back-up of information;
  • Responsible for safety and good housekeeping in the Company filing system.
